About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Consultant to join a dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and supporting SAP MDG solutions to ensure high-quality master data, enforce governance standards, and support enterprise-wide data management initiatives.


SAP Master Data Governance enables organizations to centrally govern and maintain master data across SAP and non-SAP systems, with support for collaborative workflows, validations, and audit trails to ensure consistency and compliance.

Qualifications

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP MDG solutions for master data domains such as Business Partner (Customer/Supplier), Material, and Finance. Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define data governance processes, business rules, and validation logic. Configure MDG change request processes, workflows, UI modeling, and validations to support governance and quality requirements. Ensure data quality standards are in place through validations, duplicate checks, and automated rules before master data creation or updates. Integrate SAP MDG with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and other applications (SAP or third-party systems) to facilitate master data replication and consistency across landscapes. Provide production support, troubleshoot MDG issues, and drive continuous improvements. Create and maintain documentation such as functional specifications, configuration guides, and governance policies. Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for end users and support teams. Participate in data governance councils and contribute to governance strategy & policy development. Support audit and compliance requirements by providing data change history, quality metrics, and reporting.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of professional experience working with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) or closely related master data management initiatives. Strong understanding of master data governance principles, data lifecycle processes, data quality, and data stewardship best practices. Hands-on experience with SAP MDG configuration (data models, UI, workflows, validations) and governance frameworks. Experience integrating SAP MDG with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, or other enterprise systems using replication technologies (IDocs, DRF) or middleware. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a remote setting. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders.
