Job Summary:

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems, specifically in SAP HCM/Payroll applications. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration, and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs integration between SAP and other business applications. Provide consultation to users in business process. Lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues. Support and lead projects. This role will require communication with customers at all levels, knowledge of the SAP HCM/Payroll applications SAP R/3 (ECC 6.0), the ability to diagnose and resolve problems and issues and to act as a consultant to customers. It is necessary to work closely with the business management and users to ensure that the system meets their needs and that it is configured to provide optimal service all the time.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong SAP technical, configuration, and business area knowledge in HCM/Payroll modules
  • Configures and deploys ERP application and business processes, specifically in SAP Human Capital Management, Payroll Elements & Processing, HR Data, Time Entry, and other business-related applications
  • Developing RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversion, Enhancement and Forms) specifications to complete custom development
  • Interfaces with customers during design and deployment of business solutions. Manages the solutions through deployment, training, and hand-off activities
  • Translate user's requests into application system solutions. Analyze system user requirements to define and design system configuration, enhancements, and modifications
  • Staying current with new technologies especially within the SAP areas to align technologies with the business direction.
  • Building strong internal & external stakeholder relationships by aligning system solutions to changing business requirements
  • Leads critical thinking with constituents to determine best business practices.
  • Identifies problems and research alternatives through testing and consulting with peers
  • Prepares presentations, gains consensus from client and implementation team, and implements solutions.
  • Design test plans, execute test scenarios, validate test data, and document test results
  • Supports business process testing of the application prior to end-user acceptance testing
  • Participates in end-user acceptance testing
  • Manage projects of small to medium size and scope
  • Perform project management and detailed analysis of business practices, processes, and scenarios. Redesign procedures to suggested best business practices in concert with SAP functionality
  • Perform most of the project management functions of the user groups including coordinating, organizing, planning and scheduling, communicating, tracking accountability, ensuring documentation, monitoring and evaluating, problem solving and technical assistance
  • Support projects are delivered on time and on target of the budgets
  • Participates in cross-functional teams to explore process improvement initiatives, measure results, and refine processes to achieve business objectives
  • May work on support and integration of non-SAP applications or systems
  • Maintains accuracy of helpdesk database of reported problems and participates in resolution
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams to define and design complex processes and procedures for the configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP and related application systems
  • Participates in the creation and enforcement of IT software standards and procedures
  • Understand the Risks and mange global overview of the system within SAP HCM/Payroll applications for flawless business function.
  • Understand, monitor, and support all process and its interfaces to other modules within SAP.
  • Strong integration knowledge of integration with SAP HCM/Payroll applications
  • Proven Knowledge of SAP HCM/Payroll applications
  • Assist and empower customers, power users, peers when required to manage support and business process improvements.
  • Manage / deliver allocated tasks / projects to agreed costs, timescales and quality
  • Ensure all work undertaken and system applications confirm to Company standards, frameworks and procedures and meet the agreed service levels.
  • Manage to plan and prioritize tasks to achieve agreed deadlines and meet requirements of customer.
  • Identify and implement improvements to systems and its applications to meet forecast business requirements
  • Assisting in defining the scope of a project/opportunities, estimating efforts and project timelines.
  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams on major projects, contributing expertise and advise to ensure successful project completion
  • Providing a creative source of ideas/solutions to address problems.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
  • Twelve (12) years' experience, including system development/engineering, providing technical direction and leadership to team members.
  • Experience in the SAP HCM/Payroll applications, preferably with ECC 6.0
  • Experience of working in a large multi-national company in a support and development role.
  • Experience within configuration, enhancements, and support
  • Previous experience or involvement within continuous improvement/business analysis projects (preferred though not essential)
  • Self-starter, able to work minimal supervision, takes responsibility, works under pressure, show initiative, and have good problem solving and communication skills.
  • Good integration knowledge with other supporting SAP components/processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Largely autonomous role; so good customer facing skills with experience of all levels of people and comfortable with working with senior managers within IT and the business.
  • Good understanding of ITSM process and service desk operations
  • Experience using SAP, requires understanding of business practices and experience developing business design documentation.
  • Largely autonomous role; so good customer facing skills with experience of all levels of people and comfortable with working with senior managers within IT and the business.
  • Self-starter, able to work minimal supervision, takes responsibility, works under pressure, show initiative, and have good problem solving and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of ITSM process and service desk operations
