The SAP EWM Technical Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions within the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) module. This role involves working closely with functional teams and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions that optimize warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Development:
Develop custom enhancements, interfaces, and reports in SAP EWM using ABAP and related technologies.
Implement RF framework, PPF actions, and custom developments for warehouse processes.
Create and maintain EWM-specific objects such as queues, warehouse tasks, and handling units.
Integration:
Configure and support integration between SAP EWM and other SAP modules (MM, SD, TM) and external systems.
Work on IDocs, BAPIs, and Web Services for system communication.
Performance Optimization:
Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues in EWM processes.
Optimize system performance and ensure stability during high-volume operations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Provide technical guidance and support during project implementation and post-go-live.
Documentation & Testing:
Prepare technical specifications, unit test plans, and support integration testing.
Ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
Strong experience in SAP EWM technical development (ABAP, RF, PPF).
Knowledge of EWM architecture, warehouse processes, and integration points.
Experience with debugging and performance tuning in EWM.
Integration Knowledge:
Familiarity with SAP ECC/S4HANA integration and related modules.
Hands-on experience with IDocs, BAPIs, and middleware tools.
Additional Skills:
Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
6+ years of experience in SAP EWM technical development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM.
Knowledge of Fiori apps and UI5 development.
Exposure to Agile methodology and DevOps tools.
