Overall Purpose of the Job

The role of the Developer is to improve the functionality of IT support systems, increasing efficiency. Their job is to analyse software requirements, research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
---------------------------------------
Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expro's reputation is minimised. If necessary, report possible violations or conflicts of interest.
Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable Quality policies, procedures, processes and systems. Take an active part in quality improvement processes. Identify and report any deficiencies to supervisor and obtain authorisation for any deviations from standard procedures.
Actively comply with all applicable Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and processes. Promote HSE awareness; take responsibility and be accountable for own safety and safety of others. Demonstrate the personal application of HSE procedures in daily performance and always follow the 10 Safety House Rules.
Ensure objectives set under Employee Development Plan are met.
Understanding of BTP Destination service, OAuth2/OIDC authentication flows, and principal propagation.
Design, develop, test, and deploy SAP Fiori/UI5 apps within SAP Business Application Studio.
Exposure to SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub, and Joule for AI integration.
Ability to implement RAG patterns using SAP HANA Cloud Vector Engine for semantic search and LLM grounding.
Familiarity with consuming AI endpoints from ABAP via REST/JSON using secure BTP Destinations.
Awareness of responsible AI practices and ISO 42001 compliance in SAP Business AI context.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
------------------------------------
Mixed experience preferred in both consulting and direct client support environments (5+ years)
Experience with ABAP Cloud (SAP BTP ABAP Environment / Embedded Steampunk) and RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model) including OData V4 services.
Proficiency in ADT (ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse) as primary IDE.
Knowledge of Clean ABAP guidelines, ABAP Unit testing, and ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) integration in CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with gCTS/abapGit and Project Piper for CI/CD automation.
Development experience in ALV reports, Implicit and Explicit Enhancements, ALE/IDocs, Function Groups, ABAP Classical, ABAP Object Oriented, BDC / LSMW, Dialogue Programming, Enhancement Framework, BADI, Support Integration with Third Party Systems covering RFC, Proxy, SOAP, REST, OData Services etc.
Conduct performance analysis and tuning of Objects using debugging tools like run time analysis & SQL trace & HANA profiling, Code push down experience to HANA Environment using AMDP, CDS
Creating and extending SAP workflows
Designing and developing, data dictionary objects, data elements, domains, structures, views, lock objects, search helps.
Modifying layout sets in SAP Scripts, Smart forms & Adobe Forms, Web Dynpro ABAP
Previous experience in HANA SQL Script, Fiori Configuration, Personas Administration, SAPUI5 development.
Previous experience in Bank integration with SAP preferred with an understanding in DMEE capabilities in FI payments
BASIS knowledge, SAP SuccessFactors & Concur integration will be advantageous.
Degree-qualified or equivalent in Computer science/engineering/maths
Certification in relevant vendor software products, e.g. SAP Certification would be ideal
