Lead HANA Admin

Role Profile

IDPS (Index Data Processing Platform) is a program whose main purpose is to drive improvements across data collection, data management and data governance resulting in improved efficiencies, robustness, and the ability for our business to use our data as an asset by driving both cost savings and revenue opportunities. Role Description:

We are looking for a Lead HANA Admin who will play an integral role in the ongoing design, development, integration, enhancements and maintenance of HANA components and integration with the data platform which will span a broad range of data and functionality. As a Lead HANA Admin, you would be responsible for directing the HANA Admin team in the design, development, set up of tools, testing and debugging of applications. You will work closely with the team's scrum master to help coordinate developer's schedules and ensure effective communication between team members. This is a hands-on role, and the developer will also be responsible for helping to troubleshoot complex support issues on an as needed basis. This role will be based in Bangalore, India on the Shared Tech Data Services Team

Key Responsibilities:

Install/upgrade/remove database software.

Software patch application.

Install/upgrade/remove information on servers.

Database infrastructure software/tools management.

Create/Clone/upgrade/remove database.

Patch rollout execution.

Execute database level parameter changes.

Update/refresh statistics.

Database environment support.

Request to check privilege profiles from clients.

Execute deployments.

Blocking lock detection and resolution.

Initial troubleshooting and re-starting broken database jobs.

Database migration execution.

Starting and shutting down databases and/or database services.

Database refreshes/database cloning.

Database security/account/role/privilege management.

Schema management and database monitoring.

Working knowledge of processes for continuous integration, code merging and branch management including revision control SW (examples: SAP BODS, SAP DI, SAP BI & MS Power BI, Jenkins, AWS, GIT)

Working knowledge of build process and automation and deploy processes and automation (AWS & GIT HUB)

Oversee or execute OS system maintenance services (patch and backups

Performance mtg and monitoring of all levels of the technology stack via various tool sets

SAP HANA & Database Administration - Administration, Troubleshooting of SAP HANA 2.0, including Memory Management, NSE (Native Storage Extension)

Partitioning, User Access and Authorizations.

Also Planning, Installation, Administration, Troubleshooting of MSSQL Server, Oracle DB and similar platforms, including Index creation, User Access and Authorizations, general SQL knowledge

Updates and maintains appropriate CMDB information

Partner closely with global teams to implement the design

Work Experience:

12+ years track record of relevant work experience.

Should have hands on and good understanding on HANA Admin tools and automation framework.

Should have hands on and working experience on following SAP stack SAP BODS, SAP Data Intelligence, SAP Information Steward, SAP HANA 2.0, Hana Rules Framework (HRF+) etc.

Hands-on experience and ability to design/implement infrastructure.

Very proactive and ready to take ownership of things

Excellent communication and internal personal skill

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill

Team-oriented with strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills

Technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project

Ability to implement small- and large-scale implementations of projects with E2E delivery

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience

IT Skills:

SAP HANA & Database Administration - Administration, Troubleshooting of SAP HANA 2.0, including Memory Management, NSE (Native Storage Extension)

Partitioning, User Access and Authorizations.

Also Planning, Installation, Administration, Troubleshooting of MSSQL Server, Oracle DB and similar platforms, including Index creation, User Access and Authorizations, general SQL knowledge

Updates and maintains appropriate CMDB information

Soft Skills:

Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills

Agile development processes (SCRUM and Kanban)

Experience with Jira a plus
