Role Overview

The SAP Basis Consultant will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of SAP environments across various landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PO, Solution Manager, Fiori, etc.). This role involves providing offshore support for system operations, patch management, performance tuning, and landscape upgrades while ensuring high availability and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, migrations, and refreshes for S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, and related systems. Manage user administration, roles, and authorizations in collaboration with SAP Security teams. Apply SAP kernel upgrades, Support Packs, and OSS notes as needed. Conduct performance analysis and system tuning (database, memory, and background jobs). Manage and monitor SAP HANA databases, including backups, restores, and performance tuning. Administer SAP systems hosted on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premise data centers. Coordinate with infrastructure and functional teams for end-to-end system health checks and incident resolution. Maintain transport management system (TMS) and handle import/export of changes across landscapes. Ensure system compliance with internal IT controls and security standards. Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategy, and high-availability configuration. Provide 24x7 support as part of a rotational offshore team.

Technical Skills

Core:

SAP Basis Administration, SAP Solution Manager (7.2), SAP HANA Database Administration.

Systems:

S/4HANA, ECC 6.0, BW/4HANA, Fiori, PI/PO, and Portal.

Operating Systems:

Linux, Windows Server, AIX, or Unix variants.

Databases:

SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2.

Tools:

SAP Landscape Management (LaMa), SUM/ SWPM, BRTools, SAProuter, and SAP EarlyWatch.

Cloud Exposure:

SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, or GCP hosting. Familiarity with SAP Security, Change Management, and Monitoring (CCMS/SolMan).

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong collaboration with global teams (onshore-offshore model). Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating system risks.
