The SAP Administrator will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of SAP applications, databases, and infrastructure. The role involves installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to end users and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP BW, SAP Solution Manager, etc.) and related components.
Perform
SAP Basis administration
tasks, including system monitoring, performance tuning, client copies, transports, and backups.
Ensure
system security
, applying patches, kernel upgrades, and maintaining user roles and authorizations.
Monitor
system performance and availability
across development, quality assurance, and production environments.
Manage database administration activities related to SAP (HANA, Oracle, SQL, DB2, or other databases).
Perform system refreshes, disaster recovery planning, and execution.
Support SAP system integrations with third-party applications.
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Provide technical support for SAP functional teams, developers, and end-users.
Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal IT teams for issue resolution and system optimization.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, audit requirements, and data protection standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
(or equivalent experience).
Proven experience (3-5+ years) in
SAP Basis administration
.
Strong knowledge of SAP system landscapes, transport management, and performance monitoring.
Hands-on experience with
SAP HANA administration
(preferred).
Familiarity with databases (Oracle/SQL/HANA/DB2) and operating systems (Linux/Windows/Unix).
Understanding of
network, storage, and virtualization technologies
related to SAP environments.
Knowledge of
SAP security, GRC, and audit controls
.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Certifications
SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP Basis / SAP HANA).
ITIL Certification (advantage).
Database or OS administration certifications.
