SAP ABAP Developer - (8 Years Experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient SAP ABAP Developer with approximately 8 years of extensive experience to join our senior development team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in complex ABAP development, architecture, performance optimization, and a strong understanding of various SAP modules and integration strategies. You will play a crucial role in designing, leading, and implementing robust and scalable SAP solutions, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to technical architecture decisions.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex SAP ABAP solutions across various modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, QM, WM, CRM, SRM). Act as a subject matter expert in ABAP programming, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers. Architect, develop, and optimize high-performance RICEF objects, including complex reports, interfaces (ALE/IDoc, RFC, Web Services), conversions, enhancements (Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, Enh. Framework), and interactive forms (Smart Forms, Adobe Forms). Drive performance tuning and optimization initiatives for existing and new ABAP programs, ensuring optimal system performance and scalability. Lead the technical design and review of solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines. Collaborate extensively with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and project managers to translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications and solutions. Oversee and perform thorough debugging and root cause analysis for critical production issues, providing timely and effective resolutions. Champion quality assurance processes, including code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and support for user acceptance testing (UAT). Contribute to SAP system upgrades, migrations (especially to S/4HANA), and new module implementations from a technical perspective. Evaluate and recommend new SAP technologies and development tools to enhance development efficiency and solution capabilities. Develop technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and deployment guides.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. Approximately 8 years of extensive, hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development. Proven expertise in developing complex RICEF objects across multiple SAP modules. Deep knowledge of ABAP OO (Object-Oriented ABAP) and experience in designing and implementing robust object-oriented solutions. Strong experience with performance analysis, tuning, and optimization techniques for ABAP programs (e.g., SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis). Extensive experience with integration technologies (ALE/IDoc, RFC, Web Services, OData services, REST APIs). Proficiency in SAP Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, User Exits, and BAPIs. Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: SAP Fiori/UI5 development, Web Dynpro ABAP, or BRFplus. Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, provide architectural insights, and mentor development teams. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

Experience with SAP S/4HANA development, including CDS Views, AMDP, and ABAP Pushdown techniques. Knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform integration (CPI) or other integration middleware. Experience with SAP Activate methodology or other agile development frameworks. SAP certifications in advanced ABAP or specific module development. Project lead or team lead experience in SAP ABAP development projects.
