The Salesman cum Fitter is responsible for assisting customers in selecting eyewear, promoting optical products, and performing basic lens fitting and frame adjustments. This role combines strong sales skills with technical proficiency in optical dispensing and frame handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist customers in choosing frames and lenses based on their prescriptions, style preferences, and lifestyle needs.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on lens options, coatings, and accessories.
Take accurate facial and frame measurements to ensure proper fitting.
Perform fitting, adjustments, and minor repairs of eyeglasses and frames.
Ensure all optical products are properly displayed and maintained.
Educate customers on the care and use of glasses and contact lenses.
Maintain an organized work area and ensure instruments and tools are in proper working condition.
Assist with inventory management, including stocking, labeling, and restocking merchandise.
Achieve sales targets and support in-store promotions.
Handle basic customer service and resolve minor issues or complaints.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in optical retail, sales, or fitting.
Basic knowledge of optical products and prescriptions.
Ability to use fitting tools and understand lens measurements.
Strong customer-focused attitude.
Education:
A diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification is required. Optical training or certification is a plus.
Salary:
?15,000 to ?25,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications).
