Sales & Tourism Development Manager (Spiritual & Wellness Retreats)

Role Purpose
The Sales & Tourism Development Manager is responsible for increasing visitors, retreat participants, and spiritual tourists to the Ashram by promoting its spiritual programs, retreats, seva opportunities, and wellness offerings--while preserving the sanctity, values, and discipline of ashram life.
This role blends sales strategy, relationship building, ethical marketing, and spiritual sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tourism & Visitor Growth
Develop and execute strategies to increase footfall for:
Meditation retreats
Yoga programs
Spiritual tourism visits
Pujan / Anushthan stays
Seva & volunteer programs
Identify domestic and international target audiences (seekers, yoga students, wellness tourists, groups, institutions).
2. Sales & Revenue Generation
Promote paid offerings such as:
Residential retreats
Donation-based spiritual programs
Group bookings
Institutional visits
Achieve monthly/quarterly visitor and revenue targets aligned with the Ashram's mission.
Design ethical sales funnels (no aggressive selling).
3. Partnerships & Collaborations
Build partnerships with:
Yoga schools & wellness centers
Travel agents & retreat facilitators
Corporate wellness teams
Spiritual tour operators
Universities & cultural institutions
Coordinate group bookings and long-term collaborations.
4. Lead Management & Conversions
Handle enquiries via:
WhatsApp Business
Email
Website forms
Social media DMs
Convert leads into confirmed visits through clear communication, follow-ups, and trust building.
Maintain visitor databases and enquiry tracking systems.
5. Marketing Coordination
Work closely with the marketing/content team to:
Promote retreats, festivals, and special programs
Support social media campaigns with sales insights
Improve brochures, pitch decks, and visitor information
Suggest storytelling approaches rooted in authentic spiritual experience.
6. On-Ground Coordination
Coordinate with:
Ashram administration
Kitchen & accommodation teams
Program facilitators
Ensure smooth arrival, stay, and departure experiences for visitors.
Collect visitor feedback for service improvement.
7. Ethical & Spiritual Alignment
Ensure all promotions:
Respect Ashram discipline, silence norms, and spiritual ethos
Avoid commercialization of sacred practices
Communicate donation structures transparently
Act as a bridge between seekers and the spiritual environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Experience in sales, tourism, hospitality, or wellness retreats
Strong communication skills (English + Hindi preferred)
Ability to explain spiritual offerings clearly and respectfully
Relationship-building and follow-up discipline
Comfortable using WhatsApp Business, CRM tools, Google Sheets
Highly Desirable
Exposure to yoga, meditation, spirituality, or wellness tourism
Understanding of Indian spiritual culture
Experience working with retreats, ashrams, or NGOs
