Job Summary:
We are looking for a driven and experienced
Sales Team Lead
to manage and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve sales targets in the FMCG sector. The candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring strong retail execution, and maintaining excellent relationships with channel partners and distributors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and manage a team of field sales executives to meet and exceed sales targets.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies in the assigned territory/region.
Monitor daily sales activities and ensure proper coverage of retail outlets, modern trade, or general trade (as applicable).
Drive primary and secondary sales while maintaining healthy distributor relationships.
Ensure SKU-wise availability and visibility across outlets.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to develop tactical sales plans.
Track individual and team performance using daily reports, route tracking, and performance metrics.
Coordinate with the marketing and supply chain teams to ensure timely execution of sales campaigns and product availability.
Train new team members on products, market trends, and sales techniques.
Ensure timely collections and credit control from trade partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 5 years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 1-2 years in a team-leading capacity.
Deep understanding of retail, general trade, or modern trade dynamics (as per product line).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to motivate and manage a field sales team.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Sales CRM tools, and reporting formats.
Results-driven mindset with a hands-on approach to field execution.
