A Sales Team Lead
manages, motivates and guides a team of sales representatives
to meet and exceed sales objectives. This position involves strategic planning, monitoring performance, training, and cultivating a sales environment focused on achieving results.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of sales representatives to achieve their sales goals, both individually and as a group.
Strategy Development:
Developing and implementing effective sales strategies and processes to align with company goals and boost revenue growth.
Performance Monitoring:
Setting clear sales targets and KPIs, monitoring team performance, and providing regular coaching and feedback.
Training & Development:
Identifying skill gaps and providing training or mentorship on product knowledge, sales techniques, and tools.
Sales Reporting & Analysis:
Analyzing sales data and market trends to find growth opportunities, inform decisions, and create reports for senior management.
Customer Relationship Management:
Managing key accounts, building strong client relationships, ensuring high customer satisfaction, and handling escalated issues.
Collaboration:
Working with other departments like marketing and product teams to ensure consistent messaging and strategies.
Operational Support:
Assisting with daily sales operations, including assigning territories, managing workflow, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Proven sales experience with a history of meeting or exceeding targets, and often with prior leadership or supervisory experience.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Marketing is often preferred, but significant relevant experience can also be considered.
Leadership Abilities:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate a team.
Analytical Skills:
The ability to analyze sales data to make data-driven decisions and adjust strategies.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with CRM software (like Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, time management, and organizational skills, along with adaptability.
This role serves as a crucial link between the sales team and upper management, requiring both sales expertise and effective leadership to achieve business success.
