Job Summary

The Sales and Service Engineer will be responsible for both sales and technical support of radio collars, GPS collars, and other telemetry equipment used for wildlife research and environmental monitoring. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, sales acumen, and excellent communication skills to support clients, drive revenue, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

Identify and engage with potential new clients, such as wildlife biologists, conservation organizations, academic researchers, and government agencies. Develop and deliver technical sales presentations and equipment demonstrations to explain product features and benefits.Submission of proposals quotes tenders etc Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose customized solutions. Generate new business by meeting potential clients and nurturing long-term customer relationships. Prepare and negotiate technical proposals, quotations, and sales contracts along with paper work for licensing and approvals for govt clients Assist in market research to identify competitor products, industry trends, and new opportunities for business growth to develop indigenous products coordinating with R&D teams Achieve or exceed sales targets for the assigned territory.
Technical Service and Support

Provide pre-sales technical assistance and application support to help clients select the right equipment for their research needs. Assist in on-site installation, commissioning, and setup of telemetry base stations and other hardware. Supervise routine maintenance, calibration, and repair services on equipment, both remotely and on-site at customer locations with service teams Diagnose and resolve technical issues through remote troubleshooting (phone/email) and field visits. Provide technical training and guidance to customers on equipment operation, data collection, and maintenance procedures. Document service activities, repairs, and customer communication to maintain accurate records. Act as a technical liaison between clients and the product development team, relaying feedback for future product improvements.
Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical,Electronics Mechanical Engineering, IT Instrumentation, Wildlife Biology, or a related technical discipline. Proven experience in a technical sales or field service role, preferably with telemetry, radio frequency (RF), or environmental monitoring equipment. Strong understanding of RF principles, telemetry systems, and digital signal processing. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities. Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and travel extensively, sometimes to remote or challenging field conditions. Proficiency with relevant software, including CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools. Valid driver's license and a strong understanding of field safety protocols.
Preferred

Experience in a customer-facing role involving technical support. Familiarity with wildlife research protocols, animal handling, and conservation efforts is a plus. Experience with GPS collaring technology and GIS software for mapping and data visualization. Previous experience operating and maintaining telemetry receivers and antennas.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
