Job Description

Position: Sales Officer
Location: Chandrapur, Maharashtra & Surat, Gujarat
Department: Sales (General Trade)
Reports To: Area Sales Manager
Role Purpose
The Sales Officer is responsible for achieving distribution, visibility, and sales targets by effectively managing distributors, retail partners, and field sales teams within assigned territories. The role focuses on expanding market share, executing trade promotions, and ensuring strong presence of Company products across channels.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Distribution Management:

  • Achieve both primary and secondary sales targets as per business plans.
  • Drive numeric and weighted distribution growth across the assigned territory.
  • Ensure product availability, visibility, and effective merchandising at retail outlets.
  • Handle distributors and ensure adequate stock, timely billing, and replenishment.
Market Execution:
  • Implement trade promotions, schemes, and visibility drives as per company guidelines.
  • Monitor competitor activities and share market intelligence with the manager.
  • Plan and execute market visits to ensure robust retail coverage.
Team & Channel Management:
  • Lead, train, and support the distributor salesmen (DSRs).
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with distributors and retailers.
Reporting & Analysis:
  • Track sales data, market share, and performance vs. targets.
  • Submit accurate MIS reports and sales updates to the Area Sales Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Graduate (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in FMCG General Trade sales.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in DMS (Distribution Management System) and SFA (Sales Force
Automation) tools.
  • Industry Preference: FMCG, Food & Beverages, or Consumer Products.
