Job Summary: The Sales Merchandiser in the garment industry is responsible for driving sales growth by managing product presentation, inventory, and client relationships. This role bridges the gap between production and sales teams, ensuring that garments meet customer demands and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with buyers, retailers, and distributors.* Analyze market trends and customer preferences to recommend suitable garment styles and collections.* Coordinate with design, production, and quality control teams to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.* Monitor stock levels, plan inventory, and suggest reorder points to optimize sales and reduce overstock.* Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and reports for management review.* Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with clients and suppliers.* Organize and participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and promotional events.* Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and legal regulations.* Track competitor activity and identify new business opportunities.* Provide product training and support to sales teams and retailers.*
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.* Proven experience in sales merchandising within the garment or apparel industry.* Strong understanding of garment production, fabric types, and fashion trends.* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.* Proficient in MS Office and inventory management software.* Ability to analyze sales data and market research reports.* Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure.*
Preferred:
Experience working with international clients and export markets.* Knowledge of supply chain and logistics related to garment manufacturing.*
