Reporting To: Managing Director

1. Role Overview



The Marketing Head will lead the organization's complete sales & marketing operations, including budgeting, channel development, institutional and B2B sales, product management, pricing strategy, and sales team leadership. The role requires deep industry expertise and maturity to build a strong national sales network and drive revenue growth.

2. Key Responsibilities



A. Strategic Marketing & Business Growth



Develop and implement annual and long-term marketing strategies. Drive market penetration in biopesticides, biofertilizers, animal health, and public health segments. Prepare and manage marketing budgets, product-wise forecasts, and pricing plans. Conduct market, competitor, and product analysis to identify growth opportunities. Plan and execute product launches with cross-functional teams.

B. Sales Leadership & Team Management



Lead and mentor regional managers, territory managers, and field staff. Build a strong, result-oriented sales team with structured KRAs and KPIs. Conduct monthly/quarterly sales reviews and ensure achievement of revenue targets. Strengthen MIS-driven performance evaluation and field reporting systems.

C. Channel Sales (Dealer / Distributor Management)



Expand and manage dealer, distributor, and stockist networks across regions. Evaluate channel partner performance, payment discipline, and credit management. Conduct dealer meets, technical training, and promotional programs. Prepare and implement market schemes, trade promotions, dealer incentives, and seasonal discounts to drive secondary sales. Ensure transparent communication of pricing, schemes, and policies.

D. B2B, Institutional & Corporate Sales



Lead B2B partnerships with agro-input companies, formulation units, and industrial clients. Drive institutional sales with Agriculture Departments, Municipal Corporations, Pest Control Operators (PCOs), Animal Husbandry Departments, etc. Handle national tenders, bulk supply contracts, and long-term institutional agreements. Build strong relationships with procurement heads, government agencies, and large clients.

E. Product Management & Development Support



Collaborate with R&D for new product development, formulation trials, and field validation. Provide market inputs for product improvement and new segment creation. Develop product brochures, technical materials, training content, and demo plans. Support costing and feasibility studies for new product launches.

F. Marketing Communication & Branding



Lead offline and digital marketing campaigns. Enhance brand visibility through exhibitions, seminars, conferences, and field events. Create farmer education content, videos, brochures, and brand assets. Ensure consistent brand messaging across all regions and channels.

G. Costing, Pricing, and Commercial Strategy



1. Costing & Profitability Analysis



Work with Finance and Production teams to determine product costing (raw materials, packaging, logistics, overheads). Monitor product-wise contribution margins and recommend corrective actions. Conduct periodic profitability reviews for each channel and market segment.

2. Pricing Strategy



Prepare pricing structures, product MRPs, and dealer-distributor transfer prices. Define territory-specific pricing based on demand, competition, and margins. Benchmark competitor prices and adjust pricing strategy to maintain market advantage. Implement dynamic pricing for bulk orders, B2B deals, and institutional tenders.

3. Market Schemes, Discounts & Trade Promotions



Design and implement dealer schemes, seasonal offers, cashback plans, and loyalty programs. Develop monthly and quarterly discount policies, stock clearance plans, and push schemes. Create structured schemes. Ensure proper monitoring, documentation, and ROI evaluation for all schemes.

3. Required Skills & Competencies



Technical Skills



Strong domain knowledge of biopesticides, biofertilizers, botanical products, animal health, and pest control solutions. Expertise in pricing strategy, margin calculation, and cost optimization. Understanding of market demand cycles, dealer networks, and agri-input sales. Competence in sales forecasting, budgeting, CRM/MIS, and analytics.

Leadership & Soft Skills



Mature leadership with strong people development ability. Excellent communication, negotiation & decision-making skills. Ability to build and motivate a high-performance sales team. Strong customer relationship management skills.

4. Qualifications



MBA (Marketing) / PGDM preferred. B.Sc. Agriculture/Vet / B. Tech Biotech / Life Sciences background is an advantage.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets. Growth in dealer-distributor network. Institutional sales & B2B contract wins. Successful implementation of pricing & schemes. Sales team productivity and hiring quality. Product launch success and market share growth. Overall profitability improvement.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹125,000.00 per month
