The Head of Sales & Marketing will drive revenue growth by leading the company's business development, client acquisition, brand positioning, and marketing strategy within the event industry. This role requires deep understanding of event planning, MICE, brand activations, exhibitions, and experiential marketing. The candidate will lead a multi-functional team to deliver impactful sales results, manage high-value clients, and promote the brand across digital and offline channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Business Development
Develop and implement sales strategies focused on corporate events, exhibitions, MICE, weddings, and experiential activations.
Acquire new corporate clients, agencies, and brand partnerships.
Identify and pursue high-value RFPs, tenders, sponsorship opportunities, and strategic alliances.
Lead end-to-end client pitch processes including concept presentation, budgeting, and negotiation.
Maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, venues, vendors, and agencies.
2. Revenue & Pipeline Management
Set annual and quarterly revenue targets and create execution plans.
Manage the sales pipeline in CRM systems, tracking leads, conversions, and retention metrics.
Develop event packages, pricing strategies, and proposals to meet business goals.
Monitor competitor offerings and industry pricing trends.
3. Marketing & Brand Building
Create impactful marketing campaigns showcasing event capabilities, past work, and unique propositions.
Drive digital marketing initiatives including social media, SEO, website content, and online advertising.
Oversee event photography, video case studies, portfolio building, and PR activities.
Plan participation in expos, industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows.
4. Client Experience & Project Alignment
Work closely with event operations and creative teams to ensure client requirements are understood.
Align sales promises with deliverables to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.
Resolve escalations and manage post-event feedback for continuous improvements.
5. Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and motivate the sales and marketing team to achieve targets.
Provide guidance on presentation skills, pitch decks, negotiation, and brand communication.
Recruit and develop talent in sales, marketing, and business development functions.
6. Reporting & Analytics
Track KPIs including client acquisition, event profitability, lead conversion, and campaign ROI.
Present periodic performance reports to senior management with insights and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Mass Communication, or related field (MBA preferred).
8-15+ years of experience in the event industry, experiential marketing, or MICE sales.
Proven track record in client acquisition, pitching, and closing high-value event contracts.
Strong network of corporate clients, agencies, and event vendors is highly desirable.
Deep understanding of event production, creative concepts, and event logistics.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
