The Business Development Manager will lead sales, client acquisition, and relationship management for rooftop and ground-mounted solar EPC projects across Gujarat. The candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, achieving sales targets, managing key accounts, and coordinating with engineering, design, and project execution teams.
Key Responsibilities ::
1. Business Development & Sales
Identify and target new customers in industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional sectors.
Generate leads through networking, field visits, cold calling, digital outreach, and industry events.
Prepare and present company proposals, technical offers, and commercial quotations.
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and reporting database (CRM).
2. Client Relationship Management
Conduct site visits and coordinate feasibility assessments with the engineering team.
Explain ROI, payback period, subsidy benefits, net-metering, and financing options to clients.
Negotiate commercial terms, payment milestones, and contract finalization.
Maintain long-term relationships with key customers, developers, consultants, and channel partners.
3. Market Intelligence & Expansion
Track government policies, DISCOM standards, MNRE guidelines, and subsidy updates.
Identify tender opportunities in government, PSUs, and private sectors.
Build partnerships with consultants, architects, builders, and industrial associations.
4. Coordination With Internal Teams
Work closely with design, engineering, procurement, and project execution teams.
Ensure smooth handover of project details from sales to execution.
Provide accurate forecasts and weekly/monthly reports to management.
5. Branding & Marketing (Optional Responsibility)
Support marketing team in outreach campaigns, product brochures, and exhibitions.
Promote company brand positioning in the Gujarat solar ecosystem.
Educational Qualification ::
BE/B.Tech (Electrical / Mechanical / Energy) preferred
MBA in Marketing/Sales is an added advantage
Technical Skills ::
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, modules, inverters, structure design basics
Understanding of subsidies, net metering, DISCOM application process
Ability to read basic single-line diagrams (SLD) and load calculations
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools
Soft Skills ::
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong networking capability in industrial and commercial sectors
Self-driven, target-oriented, and good team collaborator
Ability to handle multiple clients and travel extensively within Gujarat
