Job Summary:



To become an Automation Sales Manager, one typically needs a mix of technical education business knowledge, and sales experience specific to the industrial Automation domain.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve company goals in automation product and service sales. Identify new business opportunities and key markets in industrial, manufacturing, or building automation sectors. Build and manage a high-performing sales team (if applicable). Establish strong relationships with customers, OEMs, system integrators, and distributors. Present and demonstrate automation solutions to clients, customizing offerings based on business needs. Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to deliver effective solutions. Track sales metrics and provide regular reports to senior management. Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology B.E / B.Tech in: Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics / Instrumentation Mechatronics Automation / Robotics Industrial Engineering

Roles and Responsibilities of an Automation Sales ManagerSales Strategy & Execution



Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share goals for automation products and solutions.

Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, emerging trends, and potential clients in relevant industries.

Establish and execute a regional or national sales plan in coordination with senior management.

Client Management



Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, including OEMs, system integrators, EPCs, and end-users.

Understand client requirements and provide tailored automation solutions that meet technical and business needs.

Conduct presentations, product demos, and negotiations to close high-value deals.

Team Leadership (if applicable)



Recruit, train, and mentor sales engineers or representatives focused on automation sales.

Set sales targets, track performance, and provide coaching and support to achieve goals.

Collaboration with Technical Teams



Work closely with engineering, product development, and project teams to ensure technical alignment of sales proposals.

Translate customer needs into technical requirements for customized solutions.

Provide customer feedback to R&D/product teams for continuous improvement.

Sales Process Management



Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification to proposal, negotiation, and post-sale support.

Prepare and review proposals, quotations, and contracts with pricing and technical specifications.

Use CRM tools to manage pipelines, forecast sales, and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.

Market & Product Knowledge



Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies in automation (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS, robotics, AI in automation).

Provide product and market insights to help shape company offerings and go-to-market strategies.

Reporting & KPIs



Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market feedback, and business development activities.

Monitor and analyse KPIs (sales volume, margin, conversion rates, etc.) and adjust strategies accordingly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
