Job Description

An Auto Parts Salesman sells vehicle replacement parts, assisting customers in finding the right components for repairs by using catalogs and technical knowledge, processing sales, managing inventory, and handling customer service issues like returns, ensuring efficient operation of the parts department. Key duties include taking orders (phone/in-person), explaining part functions, identifying needs via vehicle inspection, stocking shelves, ordering stock, and maintaining customer records.
Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Assistance: Greet customers, understand their needs, and help them locate correct parts (OEM or aftermarket).
• Sales & Order Processing: Process transactions (cash/card), answer phone inquiries, and provide price quotes.
• Technical Knowledge: Use catalogs, computer systems, and product knowledge to identify correct parts and recommend substitutes.
• Inventory Management: Stock shelves, track inventory, identify low stock, place orders, and handle returns/exchanges.
• Communication: Inform customers and service advisors about part availability, delivery, and special orders.

: Provide support, handle complaints, and build long-term client relationships.
Essential Skills:

• Strong customer service & communication.
• Knowledge of automotive parts & industry trends.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Familiarity with inventory/sales software.

Work Environment:

• Auto parts stores, dealerships, or repair shops.
• May involve both counter sales and outside sales (visiting garages/companies).
