We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Lead to head our sales department in Pune. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, building high-performing teams, and establishing our market presence in the Tech/SaaS industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the entire sales department, including hiring, training, and developing a high-performing sales team
Develop and execute comprehensive B2B sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in Pune and surrounding territories
Own the end-to-end sales process including proposal development, presentations, and deal closure (handover to Customer Success team post-sale)
Take full accountability for team sales targets and revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Build and maintain strong relationships with key enterprise clients, partners, and stakeholders
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities in the Tech/SaaS space
Establish sales processes, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive accountability and results
Lead recruitment and hiring of sales team members, ensuring we build a talented and diverse team
Manage performance issues including implementing improvement plans and making termination recommendations when necessary
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to team members
Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment on business objectives
Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and insights to senior leadership
Negotiate high-value contracts and close strategic deals with enterprise clients
Drive customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction initiatives
Required Qualifications
7-10 years of B2B sales experience in Tech/SaaS industry with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics (MRR, ARR, CAC, LTV), and sales cycles
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment
Experience selling to enterprise clients and managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes
Strong experience in team building, coaching, and performance management
Excellent understanding of the Pune/Maharashtra market landscape
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
MBA or equivalent degree preferred
