An Elevator Sales Engineer's job is to combine technical knowledge with sales skills to sell new installations, modernizations, and maintenance services for elevator and escalator systems. Key responsibilities include identifying client needs through site visits, conducting technical assessments, explaining complex products, preparing detailed proposals and tenders, negotiating contracts, managing sales targets, and maintaining customer relationships to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Solutions & Site Assessment:

Conduct site visits to assess customer needs, taking measurements, and reviewing design drawings to determine the most suitable elevator or escalator solution.

Sales & Customer Engagement:

Actively seek out and develop relationships with clients, architects, and builders to promote elevator products and services.

Proposal & Tender Management:

Prepare detailed technical proposals, cost estimates, and tenders for projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and are submitted for consideration.

Sales Target Achievement:

Meet and exceed sales targets for elevators, escalators, and modernization services through effective sales strategies and market awareness.

Technical Explanation:

Explain the technical aspects of complex elevator products and systems to clients in understandable terms.

Contract Negotiation & Project Management:

Negotiate contracts, ensure they align with company processes, and coordinate with concerned departments to ensure projects are scheduled and completed on time and to satisfaction.

Customer Satisfaction:

Provide ongoing technical support, consultation, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the pre-sales, installation, and post-installation phases.

Market & Competitive Analysis:

Monitor market trends, gather information on competitors' strategies, and report findings to management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Technical Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of elevator and escalator systems, including design, installation, and maintenance requirements.

Sales & Negotiation Skills:

Proven ability to meet sales targets, build rapport, and negotiate contracts.

Communication Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills to explain technical concepts and build strong client relationships.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong ability to analyse customer needs, identify technical issues, and propose effective solutions.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is often required.

Industry Experience:

Experience in the elevator industry or a related field like construction is highly

Preferred. 2 to 5 Years.
