Role: Senior Business Development Manager / Sales Leader
Company: Saaro Beyond Packaging (Luxury & Rigid Box Manufacturing)
Location: Mumbai (with travel)
CTC: Fixed + Uncapped Performance-Linked Incentives
Reporting to: Founder / Director
ROLE PURPOSE (READ THIS CAREFULLY)
This is NOT a relationship-maintenance or order-follow-up role.
This role exists to:
Build large, profitable, repeat B2B accounts and scale revenue systematically, contributing meaningfully to Saaro's vision of reaching ?200 Crore annual revenue within the next 4 years.
You will be expected to hunt, close, grow, and retain high-value clients, not wait for inquiries.
WHO SHOULD APPLY (IDEAL PROFILE)
We are looking for a commercially sharp B2B sales professional who:
Has sold custom / solution-based products, not commodities
Is comfortable with long sales cycles (30-120 days)
Can sell on value, design, reliability, and scale -- not discounts
Understands costing, margins, and manufacturing realities
Thinks in annual account value, not single orders
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1? New Business Acquisition (Hunter Role)
Identify and onboard mid-to-large B2B clients in:
Luxury brands
Corporate & festive gifting
FMCG & D2C brands
Jewellery, real estate, hospitality, premium retail
Build a self-generated pipeline via:
Strategic outreach
CXO-level meetings
Referrals
Industry mapping (not just exhibitions)
2? Key Account Development (Farmer Role)
Convert clients into repeat, multi-SKU, long-term accounts
Increase wallet share through:
Cross-selling packaging formats
Seasonal planning (Diwali, launches, annual calendars)
Volume-based contracts
Build ?50L-?2Cr+ annual accounts
3? Commercial Ownership & Margin Protection
Own the deal end-to-end:
Sampling
Pricing
Negotiation
Closure
Payment follow-ups
Ensure healthy gross margins
Avoid price wars; sell Saaro's quality, reliability, and scalability
4? Internal Coordination
Work closely with:
Design
Sampling
Production
Accounts
Ensure realistic commitments and on-time delivery
Act as the voice of the customer internally
5? Sales Discipline & Reporting
Maintain structured reporting on:
Pipeline value
Conversion ratio
Margins
Collections
Follow CRM / Google Sheet-based tracking
Participate in weekly performance reviews
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
First 90 Days
Deep product & costing mastery
Build a target list of 50-100 qualified accounts
Conduct 25+ serious decision-maker meetings
Create a pipeline of ?1.5-2 Cr
First 6 Months
Close ?1-2 Cr of confirmed business
Develop at least 3 repeat clients
Maintain margins at or above company benchmarks
First 12 Months
Generate ?4-6 Cr annualized revenue
Build 1-2 key accounts worth ?75L+ annually
Demonstrate repeatability, not one-time wins

Collection cycle (cash discipline)
Repeat business %
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
4-10+ years of B2B sales experience (manufacturing / packaging preferred)
Experience selling customised products
Strong negotiation & presentation skills
Ability to understand costing & feasibility
Comfortable with targets, reviews, and accountability
