The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales of compostable and sustainable packaging solutions. This role involves developing new business opportunities, managing client accounts, and promoting eco-friendly alternatives to conventional plastics. The position requires an individual with strong business acumen, communication skills, and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:1. Business Development
Identify and develop new customers in FMCG, Retail, Automotive, Industrial, and other sectors using packaging.
Educate potential clients on the benefits of compostable packaging solutions versus traditional plastics.
Conduct regular market mapping to identify growth opportunities in sustainable packaging.
2. Sales & Negotiation
Present product portfolio (industrial grade compostable films, sleeves, bags, stretch films, etc.) to clients.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure profitable business.
Work closely with the production and logistics team to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
3. Client Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with procurement managers, SCM teams, and sustainability officers.
Provide technical and commercial support to customers during trials and product evaluations.
Maintain regular contact with existing clients to ensure repeat business and identify upselling opportunities.
4. Market Intelligence & Reporting
Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and product developments in the packaging industry.
Prepare sales forecasts, MIS reports, and pipeline updates for management review.
Share customer insights to support product innovation and R&D efforts.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong sales, negotiation, and persuasion skills
Ability to explain sustainability benefits in a simple, impactful manner
Good understanding of packaging materials (plastics, compostable, biodegradable alternatives)
Strong presentation and client interaction skills
Self-motivated with ability to achieve targets independently
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Engineering background is a plus)
1-3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in
packaging, plastics, or sustainable materials
Proven track record of achieving sales targets
Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, plant visits, and exhibitions
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets
Number of new client acquisitions in targeted industries
Retention rate and repeat business from existing clients
Contribution to expanding company presence in new geographies or segments
