A Sales Engineer - Electrical (Turnkey Projects) is responsible for technical sales and business development of end-to-end electrical turnkey solutions. The role involves handling projects from pre-sales to handover, including design coordination, costing, proposal preparation, and client interaction for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales & Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities for electrical turnkey projects
Understand client requirements, tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications
Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies
Prepare technical and commercial proposals for EPC/turnkey projects
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client negotiations
Technical & Commercial Activities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing strategies
Coordinate with design, estimation, and procurement teams
Select electrical equipment (HT/LT panels, transformers, cables, DG sets, UPS, lighting, earthing, etc.)
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards (IEC, IS, IEEE, NEC)
Support contract finalization and order closure
Project Coordination
Act as a link between clients and project execution teams
Support project handover from sales to execution
Assist during installation, testing, commissioning, and snag resolution
Address technical queries and variation orders during execution
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, and end users
Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, and PMC teams
Ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
Required Skills Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of electrical turnkey systems:
HT/LT power distribution
Substations and transformers
Cable routing and termination
Lighting and power systems
Earthing and lightning protection
DG, UPS, and solar integration (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOQs, and tender documents
Estimation and costing for EPC projects
Sales & Soft Skills
Strong negotiation and presentation skills
Commercial awareness and contract understanding
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Time management and multitasking
Willingness to travel to project sites
