Job Description

Role Overview



We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer with strong process engineering expertise to drive project/technical sales for skid-mounted process systems. This role combines business development with deep process engineering knowledge, enabling the candidate to engage with clients at a technical level while delivering commercially sound proposals. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in process design, scale-up, and project sales across pharma, specialty chemicals, agrochemicals, oil, and food sectors. You will be responsible for building lasting client relationships, preparing techno-commercial proposals, and ensuring successful project execution from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities



Business Development & Project Sales:



- Lead project and technical sales for systems and process equipment such as glass units, glass-lined steel units, steel units, powder pump units, evaporators, dryers, extractors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, spiral heat exchangers, and more. - Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international clients across pharma and chemical markets. - Drive pre-bid activities, project estimation, and proposal building to secure new business. - Conduct technical meetings with customers.

Process Engineering Support: -



- Analyze and understand client processes to design customized solutions. Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and techno-commercial proposals. - Oversee basic and detailed engineering for new installations and modifications. - Provide expertise in process optimization, intensification, and scale-up (from pilot to commercial). - Preparation of process system quotations - Review and coordination with the proposal team for offers, sizing, and costing.

Technical & Commercial Interface:



- Conduct cost estimation of process equipment (dryers, evaporators, extractors, heat exchangers, etc.). - Collaborate with internal engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate costing, design, and execution. - Present solutions effectively to both technical and business stakeholders. - Preparation of work orders.

Team Management & Coordination:



- Manage and coordinate indirect reports to align with process sales goals. - Provide guidance and ensure team success.

Client Relationship Management:



- Maintain and build client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. - Increase repeat business from existing clients.

Sales Pipeline Management:



- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline across all regions and sectors with regular follow-ups. - lead-to-sale conversion rate for process sales.

Qualifications & Skills



Education:

B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience:

10 to 12 years in project/technical sales of skid-mounted process systems.

Proven track record of handling projects across multiple sectors. Strong knowledge of Aspen Plus, HYSYS, Pressure Protection Manager (PPM) and related process simulation tools. Expertise in the design and costing of process equipment such as Agitated Thin Film Dryers, Rising/Falling Film Evaporators, Short Path Distillation Units, Liquid-Liquid Extractors, Rotary Vacuum Paddle Dryers, Spiral Heat Exchangers, and Agitated Nutsch Filter Dryers

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with ability to manage domestic and international clients.
