Needs Assessment:
Conduct thorough consultations and on-site evaluations (e.g., analyzing energy consumption, roof/site conditions, and shading) to understand a client's specific energy needs and budget.
Presentation and Consultation:
Educate potential customers on the benefits of solar energy, including potential cost savings, environmental impact, available incentives, and the installation process.
Proposal Development:
Work with technical and engineering teams to design customized solar solutions and prepare detailed proposals and quotes that outline the system's specifications, projected energy production, cost, and return on investment (ROI).
Negotiation and Closing:
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and financing options to successfully close sales deals and meet or exceed assigned sales quotas.
2. Technical and Industry Knowledge
Product Expertise:
Maintain a strong understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, including panels, inverters, battery storage, and mounting systems.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay current on industry trends, local, state, and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and government incentives (like tax credits or rebates).
3. Customer Relationship Management
Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients throughout the sales cycle and after installation to ensure satisfaction and generate referrals.
Sales Tracking:
Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track all sales activities, manage the pipeline, and analyze sales data.
Coordination:
Act as the primary liaison between the client and internal teams (engineering, finance, project management) to ensure a smooth transition from sale to installation.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
Proven track record in sales, often required to have prior experience specifically in solar, renewable energy, or a related field.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is often preferred, but not always required depending on experience.
