We are looking for a Sales Engineer who can combine business development and technical sales. You will identify new opportunities, nurture relationships with existing customers, and work closely with our engineering team to offer the right automation and control solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, understands technical concepts and wants to grow in B2B solution selling.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Identify and qualify new customers in process industries (Oil & Gas, Water, Chemicals, Pharma, Metals, OEMs, etc.) through market research, networks, OEM leads and digital channels.
Generate and nurture leads via cold calls, LinkedIn, email, events/expos, OEM referrals and consultant contacts.
Build a healthy opportunity funnel / pipeline and update it regularly in CRM/MIS.
Technical Sales & Account Management
Understand customer processes and pain points; coordinate with internal design/proposals team to recommend PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, MCC/PCC panels, VFD panels and turnkey automation solutions.
Present and explain technical solutions, proposals and commercial offers to end users, OEMs, EPCs and consultants.
Manage the complete sales cycle - enquiry, techno-commercial discussions, negotiation, closing and handover to execution team.
Maintain and grow revenue from existing key accounts through regular visits, relationship building and cross-selling/upselling.
Coordinate with proposal team for timely submission of quotations and tender bids.
Track competitor activities, pricing and new product launches; share market intelligence with management.
Process & Reporting
Update visit reports, enquiry status, quotations and order status regularly in CRM/Google Sheets/ERP as applicable.
Achieve monthly and annual order booking / revenue targets.
Participate in trade shows / exhibitions / OEM events and represent the company professionally.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Must-have:
B.E./B.Tech or Diploma - Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics OR a science/engineering degree with strong technical aptitude.
1-5 years of experience in B2B technical sales / business development selling industrial products, automation, electrical or instrumentation solutions.
Good understanding (or strong willingness to learn) of PLC, VFD, control panels, instrumentation and industrial automation concepts.
Strong communication and presentation skills in English; working Hindi/Gujarati preferred.
Willingness to travel for customer visits, site meetings and out-station trips as required.
Good to have:
Experience selling to EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, Rockwell/Siemens/Schneider ecosystem, consultants etc.
Experience in account management and key account farming.
Exposure to using a CRM / sales tracking system.
