Cygnus Technik India Pvt Ltd is hiring a

Cutting Tools Sales Engineer

to promote and support premium cutting tool brands including

ceramic inserts, carbide turning tools, milling tools, and threading solutions (taps)

.

The ideal candidate must have strong machining knowledge, experience in CNC shops, and confidence in dealing with production, tool rooms, and purchase departments.

Key Responsibilities

Promote cutting tools (turning/milling/tapping) across Chennai, Coimbatore & Bengaluru Conduct product trials at customer sites and achieve successful tool performance Recommend ceramic, carbide, CBN inserts and tap selection for customer applications Work with production engineers to reduce cycle time and improve tool life Support customers in troubleshooting cutting issues (built-up edge, breakage, wear, chatter) Provide cost-per-component analysis and value-based selling Build strong relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 & Tier 2 machining companies Achieve monthly & quarterly sales targets Maintain funnel, forecasts, and visit reports

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Production

3-8 years of cutting tool sales or application engineering

Strong knowledge of: Speeds & feeds Insert grades & geometries Tool life issues MQL/coolant interaction Threading parameters (tapping, pitch issues, chip evacuation) Ability to independently handle product trials Good communication and customer-handling skills Willingness to travel

Preferred Background

Experience with brands like Sandvik, Kennametal, Widia, Ceratizit, YG, OSG, Guhring, TOTEM, or similar Understanding of difficult materials (OHNS, SS, Inconel, Titanium, hardened steel) Exposure to ceramic & CBN cutting tools is an advantage
