Job Description

Responsibilities for Sales Engineer
? As this is application-based, capital goods industry, it is expected to understand exact need
of the customer, and provide applicable-based solutions.
? Generate lead from existing customers and new prospects, and keep the sale funnel
adequately full
? Managing and interpreting customer requirements
? Calculating client quotations, persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy
their needs
? Negotiating tender and contract terms and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
? Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
? Make techno-commercial presentation on company's solutions that would be beneficial to
your client business
? Plan detailed presentations that show clients organization's product info, pricing, and
benefits
? Develop solutions for clients and successfully sell them with high hit rate
? Manage billing and delivery of the products and services, and payment collection.
? Meet with clients at appointments for sales presentations
? Offering after-sales support services
? Administering client accounts
? Analysing costs and sales
? Preparing reports for head office
? Meeting regular sales targets
? Recording and maintaining client contact data
? Follow up on products to ensure the customer is happy
? Stay knowledgeable on the field's updates in engineering and research by continuing to read
and study new data, competition and environment.
? Acquire new customers by winning them over from competitors and discovering new
opportunities
? Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
Qualifications for Sales Engineer
? Willingness and ability to travel 40% to 50% of the time
? Creativity to approach sales and build customer relationships in ground-breaking new ways
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
? Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales
? Solid experience in your products' industry
? Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
? Computer proficiency and the ability to accurately enter data and generate reports
