The Sales Coordinator will act as the backbone of the sales function, ensuring smooth operations, proper follow-ups, and high conversion efficiency. This role involves managing and supporting the sales team, coordinating incoming leads, and ensuring that every prospect receives timely and appropriate attention. While primarily focused on coordination and team management, the Sales Coordinator may also step in to close sales when required.
Key Responsibilities1. Sales Coordination & Lead Management
Monitor all incoming leads from different sources (website, campaigns, outreach, inbound channels).
Assign leads to the appropriate sales executives based on skill, location, or specialization.
Track lead status daily to ensure no lead is missed or delayed.
Follow up with the sales team to ensure timely communication, demos, follow-ups, and proposal submissions.
Maintain and update CRM records accurately.
2. Sales Team Support & Management
Oversee day-to-day performance of the sales team.
Ensure sales executives follow standard processes, scripts, documentation, and workflows.
Conduct regular check-ins with the team to understand bottlenecks and provide solutions.
Train new sales executives on processes and CRM usage.
Help the team stay motivated and focused on meeting targets.
3. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on lead pipeline, conversions, and team performance.
Identify patterns such as slow responses, dropped leads, or stagnating deals and take corrective action.
Share insights with management to improve lead quality and team effectiveness.
4. Sales Execution (As Needed)
Step in to handle sales calls, demos, or negotiations when required--especially for high-priority or delayed leads.
Close sales when the team needs support maintaining targets.
5. Process Improvement
Suggest improvements to sales workflows, CRM configuration, and team communication.
Coordinate with marketing and service delivery teams to ensure smooth handover from sales to operations.
Requirements & Skills
Proven experience as a Sales Coordinator, Sales Support Executive, or Sales Team Lead.
Strong understanding of sales processes, lead management, and customer communication.
Excellent organizational, coordination, and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication skills--both written and verbal.
Ability to manage a team and hold them accountable in a positive, motivating manner.
Comfortable handling sales calls and closing deals when necessary.
Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, or similar).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
High ownership mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in software services or IT product companies.
Understanding of outbound and inbound lead funnels.
Ability to analyze metrics and improve sales efficiency.
