We are seeking a high-performing Sales Consultant to promote and drive adoption of drone-based agricultural solutions under government schemes and private channels. The candidate must have a strong background in channel sales, experience handling rural and agri-dealer networks, and the ability to translate traditional sales skills into the rapidly evolving agri-tech and drone domain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Channel Sales Strategy:
Identify and onboard agri-dealers, fertilizer/pesticide distributors, and rural influencers as channel partners.
Expand presence through Krishi Kendras, agro-retailers, and rural entrepreneurship hubs.
Manage and grow sales through appointed channel partners, agri-input dealers, and state-level distributors.
2. Direct Sales & Customer Engagement:
Actively identify and engage progressive farmers, large landowners, and agri-entrepreneurs for direct drone sales.
Conduct on-ground visits, product demos, and needs assessments to position drone solutions effectively.
Build and manage a lead pipeline through field interactions, referrals, and digital inquiries.
Provide end-to-end support to customers - from initial consultation to purchase, training, and post-sale assistance.
3. Government Scheme Execution (Drone Schemes):
Understand and execute sales under government-backed drone promotion schemes (like Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization - SMAM).
Liaise with nodal officers, agricultural universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) to promote adoption.
Assist channel partners and customers in availing subsidies, preparing documentation, and post-sales support.
3. Product Demonstrations & Field Trials:
Conduct field-level drone demonstrations to farmers, FPOs, and agri-cooperatives.
Coordinate with the technical team for trial flights, safety briefings, and product walk-throughs.
4. Sales Target Achievement:
Achieve revenue and volume targets for assigned territory through channel sales and institutional sales.
Track and report on sales funnel, order closures, and lead conversion.
5. Market Development:
Build awareness among farmers and stakeholders about drone-based spraying, seeding, and mapping services.
Organize field days, local events, and farmer awareness programs with partners and agri-institutes.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work with logistics, technical support, government liaison, and after-sales teams to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
Provide regular feedback to product and R&D teams based on field experiences.
Key Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate in Agriculture, Pharmacy, Business, or related fields.
MBA/PGDM preferred (Agri-Business or Sales/Marketing specialization is a plus).
Experience:
3-8 years in Direct/Channel sales in FMCG, Agrochemicals, Seeds, or Pharma sectors.
Exposure to rural markets and dealer/distributor management.
Prior experience working on government schemes or institutional sales is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in regional/local languages.
Channel development and distributor management.
Familiarity with government processes and agri-tech trends.
Proficiency in MS Excel, CRM tools, and sales reporting.
