Job Description

A Sales Associate's job is to provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, understanding their needs, recommending products, processing sales/returns at the POS, and maintaining the sales floor's appearance, all while aiming to meet sales goals and keep customers happy. Key duties include product knowledge, handling transactions, restocking, and managing displays, requiring strong communication and a customer-focused attitude. Customer Engagement: Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide in-depth product information, features, and benefits. Sales & Transactions: Process sales, returns, and exchanges using a Point-of- Sale (POS) system; handle cash, credit, and other payments. Merchandising: Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking shelves and setting up displays. Product Knowledge: Continuously learn about new products, promotions, and store policies to better assist customers. Upselling & Loyalty: Suggest complementary items (cross-selling) and promote store loyalty programs or credit cards. Issue Resolution: Address customer complaints and concerns with empathy and tact, turning negative experiences into positive ones. Inventory Support: Assist with inventory counts, receiving new stock, and managing stock levels.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience is often preferred. Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, basic math, and problem-solving skills. Attributes: Friendly, approachable, positive attitude, team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
