Role Overview



We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving the growth and visibility of our journal by identifying and securing new business partnerships. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a proven track record in sales and marketing, particularly within the publishing or related industry. Your primary focus will be on lead generation, nurturing relationships, and ultimately converting prospects into valuable clients who will advertise in, subscribe to, or partner with our journal.

Key Responsibilities



Sales & Business Development

Lead Generation: Proactively identify and research potential businesses, organizations, and advertisers that align with the journal's focus and target audience. This includes market research, competitor analysis, and identifying emerging trends. Outreach & Prospecting: Initiate contact with qualified leads through various channels including cold calling, email campaigns, networking events, and social media. Sales Presentations & Proposals: Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations tailored to the specific needs of each prospect, highlighting the value and benefits of partnering with our journal. Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations and effectively close sales deals, meeting or exceeding set sales targets and revenue goals. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling. Sales Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on sales activities, pipeline status, conversion rates, and overall sales performance to management.

Marketing & Brand Promotion

Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to increase the journal's reach, readership, and business engagement. Marketing Collateral: Create engaging marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, case studies, and digital content that effectively communicate the journal's value proposition. Digital Marketing: Utilize digital marketing channels (e.g., email marketing, social media, website content, SEO basic understanding) to attract and nurture leads. Brand Awareness: Enhance the journal's brand recognition and reputation within target industries and among potential clients. Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and adapt marketing strategies.
Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience 2 years in a sales and marketing role, preferably within the publishing, media, or B2B services industry. Experience with journal sales is a significant plus. Results-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and drive business growth. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities. Lead Generation Expertise: Proficient in identifying and nurturing leads through various sales methodologies. Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software, email marketing platforms, and social media for business development. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and campaign performance to make informed decisions. Self-Motivated: Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working independently to achieve goals. Education: Master's degree in business administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
