Role Overview :
The
Sales Account Manager (SAM)
is responsible for identifying new industrial clients, understanding technical requirements, creating solution proposals with engineering teams, and closing profitable SI deals. This role is
70% consultative/solution selling
and
30% account farming
.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Generation & Market Expansion
Identify new opportunities in
manufacturing, warehousing, FMCG, textiles, automotive, pharma, heavy industries, electronics, and logistics
.
Map industrial clusters and engage with plant heads, facility teams, safety heads, and IT managers.
Collaborate with marketing for campaigns and trade events.
2. Requirement Gathering & Technical Scoping
Conduct site visits, walk-throughs, and requirement workshops.
Document detailed needs for surveillance, access, networking, safety, and automation.
Work with design & technical teams to develop BOQs, drawings, and integrated solutions.
3. Solution Presentation & Deal Closure
Present solutions, conduct demos, and showcase industry-specific use cases.
Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage procurement discussions.
Close deals with clear profitability and margin targets.
4. Account Management
Manage key factory accounts to drive
continuous business
, including
annual surveillance upgrades
preventive maintenance packages
network expansions
IoT/automation add-ons
Ensure customer satisfaction through strong relationship management with plant teams.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with project delivery, purchase, and operations teams for smooth execution.
Provide accurate project handovers and support in kickoff meetings.
Track deliveries, installation progress, and client approvals.
6. Forecasting & Reporting
Update CRM with opportunities, pipeline stages, and forecasts.
Report weekly on revenue, funnel health, competition insights, and account activity.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
2-6 years of experience in
industrial or factory-focused sales
:
CCTV / ELV / security systems
Industrial automation
Network infrastructure
System integration
IoT solutions
Prior experience working with factories/plants is a strong advantage.
Skills
Strong consultative selling ability.
Ability to understand floor operations, safety requirements, and plant security challenges.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Comfortable meeting plant heads, safety teams, IT managers, and procurement.
