We are looking for a highly experienced and versatile
SailPoint Architect & Senior Trainer
with over 10 years of experience in
IAM design, delivery, and capability building
. This unique role demands
deep technical expertise in SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or IdentityNow
, coupled with the ability to
architect complex IAM solutions
and
train teams on real-world configurations and best practices
. The ideal candidate is actively involved in
live SailPoint implementations
and can translate that knowledge into impactful training and enablement programs.
Expanded Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Technical Leadership
Lead end-to-end design and architecture of SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or IdentityNow solutions across multiple enterprise environments.
Conduct architecture assessments and define SailPoint deployment models tailored to client infrastructure (on-premise, hybrid, or cloud).
Drive technical feasibility analysis, POCs, and reference implementations for SailPoint integrations.
Establish IAM architectural standards, coding guidelines, and configuration best practices.
Lead efforts in SailPoint system upgrades, migrations, and feature enhancements.
2. Implementation & Integration
Manage SailPoint onboarding and integration for internal and external systems (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, databases).
Develop and implement custom rules, connectors, provisioning policies, and approval workflows using BeanShell, Java, and REST APIs.
Configure and test Identity lifecycle events: Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) processes, role assignment, access request workflows, and de-provisioning.
Oversee deployment automation and CI/CD pipeline integration for SailPoint deployments.
Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure smooth implementation and adoption.
3. Training & Curriculum Ownership
Develop and maintain structured training paths for SailPoint implementation, customization, administration, and certification preparation.
Deliver live instructor-led and virtual training sessions to internal teams, partners, and clients.
Create detailed technical documentation, SOPs, lab guides, and FAQs based on live project learning.
Implement hands-on training labs with real-world use cases from recent implementations.
Curate and manage content libraries in LMS or internal knowledge portals.
4. Mentorship & Team Enablement
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and mentor for junior IAM engineers, developers, and trainers.
Lead knowledge-sharing sessions, tech talks, and internal bootcamps.
Conduct code walkthroughs and peer reviews for quality control and skills development.
Coach delivery and support teams on handling production issues and change management in SailPoint environments.
5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Participate in client workshops to capture IAM requirements and translate them into SailPoint designs.
Present SailPoint architecture, strategy, and roadmap to CXO-level stakeholders.
Provide expert guidance during audits, compliance reviews, and IAM governance planning.
Assist in the development of RFP responses, solution proposals, and IAM maturity assessments.
6. Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Alignment
Configure access certifications, policy violations, and separation of duties (SoD) rules in SailPoint.
Ensure IAM implementations align with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, SOX, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
Collaborate with compliance teams to design reporting and attestation features.
Implement governance dashboards and reporting tools for audit readiness.
7. Innovation & Practice Growth
Contribute to IAM practice accelerators, solution templates, and reusable assets.
Research emerging IAM technologies, trends, and integrations (e.g., AI/ML-driven identity intelligence, adaptive authentication).
Define SailPoint product extension strategies using plugins, APIs, and custom modules.
Support the creation of thought leadership materials such as whitepapers, webinars, and case studies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Identity & Access Management.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or IdentityNow
.
Proven experience working on
multiple live SailPoint projects
(end-to-end lifecycle).
Strong command of:
Identity lifecycle and governance
Access certifications and RBAC
Custom rule and workflow development (BeanShell / Java)
Integration with LDAP, AD, Azure, SAP, Workday, and custom applications
Connector development and API-based provisioning
Experience designing IAM solutions for large-scale enterprises.
Preferred Qualifications:
SailPoint Certified Implementation Engineer or Architect (IdentityIQ/IdentityNow).
Exposure to other IAM tools: Okta, CyberArk, ForgeRock, Ping Identity.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, REST APIs, and scripting languages.
Knowledge of cloud security concepts and IAM for AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience working with Agile, DevSecOps environments, and microservices-based IAM architecture.
