The Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, implementing safety policies, identifying hazards, and creating a safe working environment across plant operations and project sites. The role focuses on risk assessment, incident prevention, statutory compliance, safety audits, and employee safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies
.
Conduct
risk assessments, safety inspections and site safety audits
.
Identify hazardous practices and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with
Factories Act, OSHA, and other statutory norms
.
Investigate incidents, accidents and near-miss cases and prepare reports.
Conduct
toolbox talks, safety drills, and employee safety training
.
Monitor usage and availability of
PPE and safety equipment
.
Coordinate with operations & maintenance teams on safe work procedures.
Prepare safety documents such as:
Work permits
SOPs & Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
Incident reports
Support implementation of
fire safety & emergency response plans
.
Maintain safety records, audit reports, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications
