The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies at the workplace. The role ensures compliance with statutory safety regulations and promotes a safe working culture to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor safety policies, procedures, and standards at site.
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with statutory safety laws and company HSE guidelines.
Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take corrective actions.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training programs for employees and contractors.
Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees and visitors.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
Maintain safety records, registers, and documentation.
Coordinate with site management to implement safety improvements.
Monitor fire safety systems, emergency response plans, and evacuation drills.
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Stop unsafe work practices and report safety violations to management.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma / Degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Safety certification (NEBOSH / IOSH / ADIS / Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred).
Minimum
2-5 years
of experience in a safety role (industry-specific experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Good communication and training skills.
Ability to identify risks and implement preventive measures.
Basic computer knowledge for report preparation.
