To ensure all civil construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and client requirements. The Safety Supervisor will monitor site operations, promote a strong safety culture, and minimize risks of accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor the site safety plan in accordance with company and legal standards.
Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits; identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and refresher training for all site personnel.
Ensure use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers.
Report and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
Assist in preparing risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and Method Statements.
Maintain safety documentation, checklists, permits, and inspection records.
Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to maintain safe working conditions.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as OSHA / Factory Act / Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Rules, as applicable.
Promote safety awareness and foster a zero-incident culture on site.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma / Degree in Civil / Safety / Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum
3-5 years
of experience in safety supervision on civil or infrastructure projects.
Certification in safety (e.g., NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA / Diploma in Industrial Safety) preferred.
Sound knowledge of construction safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Proficient in incident reporting and risk assessment procedures.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
