Job Description

A Safety Officer in the edible oil industry is responsible for creating and enforcing a safe working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Key duties include developing safe operating procedures, investigating incidents, managing permits for hazardous tasks like hot work, and maintaining detailed records of inspections, training, and accidents. Key Responsibilities

Risk assessment and mitigation:

Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement measures to mitigate them, particularly those related to edible oil processing and storage.

Policy and procedure development:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans tailored to the edible oil industry.

Training and awareness:

Conduct safety induction, provide regular training to employees, and run safety campaigns to promote a culture of safety and awareness, specifically addressing risks like flammability, slip hazards, and chemical handling.

Incident investigation:

Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Compliance and documentation:

Ensure compliance with all statutory safety standards, legal requirements, and company policies. This includes maintaining accurate records of all safety activities, training, and inspections.

Audits and inspections:

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify safety issues and ensure compliance with established safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Hazardous operations management:

Manage and monitor work permit systems for high-risk activities such as hot work, working at heights, or confined spaces.

Chemical safety:

Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, including those used in oil processing and cleaning.

Safety committee liaison:

Organize and document meetings of the plant safety committee and follow up on action points.

Equipment safety:

Ensure that safety-related equipment and apparatus are maintained, and oversee any required repairs or installations to prevent industrial accidents
Salary Upto 6 LPA to 10 Lpa

Joining Immidiate or 15 Days Notice Period

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
