Job Description

Qualification:

BE Mining with 2nd Class Unrestricted Mines Manager's Certificate with First aid and Gas testing certificate

Physical Standard:

Minimum height of 5.8 ft; must be medically fit

Skills and Responsibilities:

Safety Compliance:

Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards within mining operations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.

Risk Management:

Identify potential hazards and assess risks. Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.

Training and Awareness:

Conduct safety training sessions for employees and contractors. Ensure that all staff are aware of and adhere to safety procedures.

Incident Investigation:

Lead investigations into accidents and incidents. Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety Equipment:

Oversee the maintenance and proper use of safety equipment and personal protective gear.

Regulatory Knowledge:

Stay updated with changes in mining safety regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Emergency Response:

Develop and manage emergency response plans. Coordinate with local emergency services and conduct drills.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions. Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.

Communication:

Effectively communicate safety policies and procedures to all levels of staff. Foster a culture of safety within the organization.
