Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor hospital safety policies, procedures, and SOPs Ensure compliance with healthcare safety regulations, NABH/JCI standards, and local statutory laws Conduct regular safety inspections of wards, OT, ICU, labs, pharmacy, and support areas Monitor infection control practices in coordination with the Infection Control Team Oversee biomedical waste management as per government regulations Ensure fire safety systems, emergency exits, evacuation plans, and mock drills are conducted regularly Investigate incidents, accidents, needle-stick injuries, spills, and near-miss events Conduct safety inductions and training for doctors, nurses, technicians, housekeeping, and contractors Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals, gases, and medical equipment Maintain safety documentation, incident reports, audit records, and compliance reports Coordinate with maintenance, biomedical, and housekeeping departments on safety issues Support disaster management, emergency preparedness, and code blue/fire drills
