SAFETY OFFICER

Job description

Monitor daily regular Shop floor safety, includes workplace, equipment, and employee safety, implement strategies to ensure safe work practices.

Develop, implement, and oversee HSE policies, systems, and standards for all units.

Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Ensure compliance with Factories Act, PCB norms, and other statutory regulations.

Identify potential hazards, risks and prepare control measures along with production team.

Ensure the safe handling , storage of materials, Paints and Glass products.

Drive safety awareness programs, training modules, and skill development for engineers, operators, and contractors.

Improve workplace safety and ensure safety procedures are followed, investigate workplace incidents/accidents and ensure that health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.

Skills

Strong observational and problem-solving skills

Thorough understanding of local and national safety regulations and standards.

Recommend process improvements, engineering controls, and behavioral safety initiatives.

Expertise in HIRA, LOTO, chemical safety, confined space entry, and emergency response.

Excellent communication, reporting, and training delivery skills.

Ability to build a safety-first culture across teams.

Education :Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Heavy Engineering Industry.

Languages : Tamil (R,W,S) , Hindi (R,W,S), English (R,W,S)

Location: Chennai - Tamil Nadu.

Salary : Based on candidates potential
