Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented

Safety Officer

to ensure our company complies with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. The Safety Officer will be responsible for creating a safe working environment, preventing accidents and injuries, and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and enforce adherence to safety policies and regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and propose preventive measures. Develop and deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks. Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and accessible. Support implementation of emergency response plans and conduct regular drills. Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations (e.g., Factories Act, OSHA, ISO 45001). Liaise with government bodies and external agencies for audits and inspections. Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns and employee engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certification in industrial safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma in Industrial Safety). 2-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in manufacturing or construction. Good knowledge of safety legislation and practices. Strong communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting tools.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with ISO 45001 or other safety management systems. Ability to conduct training and presentations effectively. First aid and fire safety certifications are a plus. Fluency in regional language(s) is desirable.
