Job Description

The is as follows:

Checking if all the safety guidelines set by the higher-up authorities are being adhered to well. Maintaining the records which hold health information on the staff and employees working in the site. Enforcing the various programs and plans set for the development of occupational hazards. Advising and instructing the workers in case of any precautionary measures is the safety officer's job. Inspect the premises/ perimeter of the site locations, if it fits the National Occupational Safety And Health (OSH) rules. Conducting data analysis and statistical reports for presentations. Development of the policies to avoid any mishaps at the workstation is the safety officer's job. Implement and enforce safety procedures as per

MORTH, IRC, and Road Construction Safety norms

. Conduct regular site safety inspections for activities like excavation, road cutting, paving, heavy vehicle movement, and traffic diversions. Monitor

traffic management plans

, barricading, signage, flagmen arrangements, and ensure public safety near work zones. Conduct daily Toolbox Talks (TBT) and awareness programs for workers. Identify hazards related to

heavy machinery

(pavers, rollers, JCBs, tippers, cranes) and ensure safe operation. Prepare and review

for road construction activities. Ensure proper implementation of PPE, reflective jackets, lighting, and night-shift safety arrangements. Coordinate with site engineers for safe execution of work and ensure compliance at all times. Investigate accidents/near-misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions. Ensure availability and compliance of safety documents: PTW, checklists, inspection reports, emergency plans, etc. Ensure safe practices for

bitumen heating

, asphalt plant operations, and transportation. Conduct emergency response drills and maintain incident logs. Liaise with government authorities, independent engineers, and safety auditors. Maintain safety compliance as per
