Key Responsibilities
Safety Implementation & Monitoring
Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies at site.
Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and project safety plans.
Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by all site personnel.
Training & Awareness
Conduct safety inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
Organize toolbox talks, safety drills, and awareness sessions.
Support the Site Manager in promoting a strong safety culture across teams.
Incident Management
Record and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
Prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
Maintain records of safety observations, audits, and corrective actions.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company guidelines.
Maintain HSE logs, permits, and documentation for audits and inspections.
Coordinate with third-party auditors, consultants, and local authorities.
Support to Site Operations
Assist site engineers and supervisors in planning safe work practices.
Monitor high-risk activities (working at heights, electrical works, heavy lifting, etc.).
Ensure emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.) is in place and functional.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Engineering or Safety Management (preferred).
2-3 years of experience in solar project sites or renewable energy projects.
Strong knowledge of safety protocols in construction and electrical works.
Certification in NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA / Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.
Good understanding of HSE regulations, IEC/IS codes, and statutory compliance.
Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills.
Ability to train and influence workers at all levels.
Willingness to be stationed at project sites full-time.
