Core Responsibilities
Risk Assessment: Identifying, assessing, and controlling hazards and risks in the workplace.
Policy & Procedure: Developing, implementing, and enforcing health & safety policies, rules, and procedures.
Training & Awareness: Conducting safety training, drills (fire, emergency), and toolbox talks to educate employees.
Compliance: Ensuring adherence to local, national, and industry safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
Monitoring & Audits: Performing regular workplace inspections, audits, and monitoring safety performance.
Incident Management: Investigating accidents, near-misses, and injuries; preparing reports; and implementing corrective actions.
Equipment & PPE: Ensuring proper use, maintenance, and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
Key Activities
Hazard Control: Supervising hazardous materials handling, work at heights, confined spaces, and electrical safety.
Emergency Preparedness: Organizing emergency response plans and drills.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate safety records, reports, and logs.
Reporting: Communicating safety issues, risks, and progress to management.
Promotion: Fostering a positive safety culture and encouraging hazard reporting.
