Role Summary:
As a Safety Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of employees within the workplace. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization
Organizational Role:
The Safety Officer will collaborate with various departments to establish and maintain compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards. In addition, you will be responsible for investigating incidents, analysing safety data, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support the development of OHS policies and programs
Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
Experience Required:
5-7 Years experience
Qualification:
Diploma in Fire & Safety
Skills Required:
Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, OHST) is a plus.
