Job Title: Safety Officer / EHS Officer

Location: Project Site

Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Reporting To: Project Manager / HSE Manager

Job Summary

Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards at the project site. The role involves implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and promoting a safe working culture among employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety plans at site

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, client safety standards, and company HSE guidelines

Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts & conditions

Prepare and enforce Risk Assessments (RA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Method Statements

Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for workers

Monitor use of PPE and ensure compliance at all work locations

Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; prepare reports and corrective actions

Coordinate with contractors for EHS documentation and safe work practices

Maintain safety records, registers, permits, and inspection checklists

Support audits, client inspections, and statutory inspections

Stop unsafe work and recommend corrective measures immediately

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma / Degree in Safety, Industrial Safety, or Engineering

Mandatory: NEBOSH / IOSH / ADIS or equivalent safety certification

2-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer (construction / electrical / industrial projects preferred)

Knowledge of Indian safety laws, BOCW, Factories Act, and EHS standards

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of HSE practices and site safety management

Good communication and training skills

Ability to identify hazards and implement preventive measures

Documentation and reporting skills

Team coordination and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Industry Experience

Electrical works (panel installation, bus duct installation, cable laying)

Construction / Industrial / Solar / Manufacturing projects

Pay: ?11,673.63 - ?45,698.60 per month
