Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

Safety engineer

to oversee and enforce safety protocols in our workplace. The Safety engineer will be responsible for identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety training, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees. This role is vital to ensuring that our operations meet local, national, and international safety standards, reducing accidents, and ensuring the well-being of all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:



Monitor and enforce compliance with all relevant safety regulations and policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards. Develop, implement, and review safety programs, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as equipment handling, emergency response, and safe work practices. Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training, incident investigations, and safety reports. Prepare and submit safety reports to management, detailing safety performance, risks, and recommendations for improvement. Conduct risk assessments and safety assessments of new equipment, processes, or work areas to ensure safety protocols are followed. Ensure that safety signage, equipment, and emergency exit routes are clearly marked and easily accessible. Keep up to date with the latest safety regulations and industry best practices and apply them to the workplace. Assist in the development of emergency response plans, including fire drills, first aid procedures, and evacuation plans. Promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization, encouraging staff to adhere to safety guidelines. Investigate any unsafe practices or violations of safety policies and take appropriate action. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into all work activities and projects.

Educational Requirements:



Mandatory:



o B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering

o

OR

B.Sc. (PCM) with ADIS or PDIS (Advanced/Post Diploma in Industrial Safety)

Experience:

For B.Tech / Diploma holders: Minimum 8 years of experience in the engineering field. For B.Sc. (PCM) holders: Minimum 5 years of relevant safety experience Knowledge of OSHA standards, health and safety laws, and environmental regulations. Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and investigations.

Certifications:

NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification preferred. First Aid and CPR certification.

Skills:



Strong knowledge of safety regulations, protocols, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and educate employees on safety practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify risks and implement corrective actions. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to emergency situations. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate safety records and documentation. Proficient in using safety-related software and tools (e.g., incident reporting systems, risk assessment tools). Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
